Call for entries for the 11th Tri Continental Film Festival are now open until the 30th of June 2013. The Tri Continental Film Festival is an annual South African festival that is held in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Soweto and focuses on documentary and narrative films from the global South.

Well known for being a diverse and popular film festival that supports African talent, this year coincides with the fourth People to People International Documentary Film Johannesburg South Africa Conference which is scheduled to take place from the 13th to the 15th of September 2013 in Johannesburg.

Local films Man on Ground and Paving Forward won the 2012 Best Local Film and Best Short Film audience awards respectively. The Best International Film award went to 5 Broken Cameras, the USA film.
